FOUNDATION TRAINING®
"My back likes to let me know when it's pissed at me. When it does, life can become a bit more challenging. Foundation exercises have been a great addition to my exercise routine. I really notice a change in how I move. My back doesn't just feel better, it feels strong. That is a big deal. These exercises let you move with some real confidence. Everybody with a bad back should do these exercises."

Foundation Training is a series of exercises designed to facilitate your natural postures and movement patterns. The exercises teach efficient use of your body by building it up rather than constantly breaking it down.
Including Foundation Training into your daily life will consistently increase your body’s awareness in moving properly which can halt many of the degenerative processes causing chronic pain. Foundation Training does not replace your current workout regiment. It is a full body, integrated exercise system that acts as a universal accessory to whichever form of exercise or physical activity you enjoy.
Basic Principles
Through a series of postures, Foundation Training activates your posterior muscle chain and teaches your body to take the burden of supporting the body out of your joints and put it where it belongs, in your muscles. Decompression breathing, Anchoring, and proper Hinging serve as the guiding principles for Foundation Training. As you develop the strength to effectively Decompress, Anchor, and Hinge your body, you will naturally be able to Integrate this process into daily life and activities. By strengthening the full posterior chain and correcting poor movement patterns, you will maximize power, flexibility, and endurance and say goodbye to back pain.
